Conservatives regularly hysterically bash the Wash. Post as "liberal propaganda".

However, the Post broke the story that revealed the deplorable treatment of our wounded troops at Walter Reed while Fox News babbled on and on and on about Anna Nicole and Nancy Pelosi's plane.

Where was Drudge the intrepid reporter? Where was Hannity?

Would we (the public at large) ever have found out what was going on if the press kowtowed to the conservative dictum that the president, government and military establishment must never ever be questioned?

Stone K: I'm blinded by hate? The reality is that Conservatives have been bashing the mainstream media relentlessly for years now. This is just one small illustration of how the so-called liberal media outperforms the slop you suck down from O'Reilly, Limbaugh etal on a daily basis.
Why are you so filled with hate and anger about that?

General Comment to Cons:

You accuse me of gloating. I don't see it that way. The reality is that O'Reilly et al constantly rip the so-called liberal media for "bias". In fact, much of Fox News basic content is reporting on reporting from MSNBC or CNN.

Limbaugh, O'Reilly and all of your other heroes are big on bloviation, lousy on actual reporting. I say thank God for Dana Priest and the Washington Post. If they hadn't broken this story, who knows how many more months/years this would have gone on.

They need to take their stock profits made off of this war and donate it to the service men that have provided their protection from terrorism. They are hypocrites.

You mean the Washinton Compost? And I really don't understand what there is to apologize for. Of course, that's probably because I have no idea what really happened at the Walter Reed hospital, just that it's evidently all Bush's fault for some idiotic reason or another. Fox News is a lot less biased than the Post could ever hope to be -- and I say that as an independent, not a conservative.

It's true the Washington Post broke the story. But even a blind squirrel finds an acorn now and then.
As a conservative, I am appalled at the conditions at the hospital and I hope measures are taken to correct them. Our troops, especially those wounded in combat should get the finest care possible. PERIOD!!
As for your question regarding subscribing to the Post: Hell would not only have to freeze over but Satan would have to referee a game in the Hades Hockey League before I ever subscribe to a liberal paper.

And now, The rest of the story....... The soldier went to the Washington Post.... It doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure out they would be the ones to break the story....

The Washington Post, didn't have any interest in WRH when John Murtha received an award from Code Pink ,the anti-war activists which protest our soldiers in Walter Reed Hospital and harass their families when they visit them...

I'll subscribe to the post as soon as I am finished ordering the entire Michael Moore DVD collection from Amazon and endorsing Al Franken for Senate in Minnesota, and changing every preset to National Public radio on my car stereo and putting solar panels on my Chevy and watching Yentel in a continuous loop and of course hand painting my Hussein Obama for president signage... please, where was CNN? where was MNBC?

don't land that "oh look Republicans don't care" crap on us. Last time I checked the Democrats can still do things in this country too, why didn't they bring up this travesty until now?

personally I am outraged at finding out the conditions of our veteran's hospitals, but I don't blame republicans alone.

Where was your moral outrage last week? Oh I know it was with what ever flavor of the month Outrage you could find at the time, Just like everyone else.

Was CNN rushing to cover the story? noooo they were fighting over who got to report the same hyped up crap as every one else.

Your too blinded by your own hate to see EVERYONE is to blame and there is plenty to go around, not just for Republicans, but for Democrats and every one else who was not paying attention.

Try using your current moral outrage on to something creative, instead of using it to attack the average person who did not know.

ADD ON: You are accusing Conservatives of basically ignoring the plight of our troops which is completely unfair and inaccurate, you are accusing Conservatives of being nothing more that mindless sheep, you are basing your opinion of Conservatives on your own narrow definition of conservatism... That's called HATE.

No more than basing stereotypes on some ones appearance is racism.

You know your here slamming O'Riely (I am not a personal fan by the way) but I don't see Kieth Obberman going to Iraq to be with the troops or showing them his support. At least I can respect people like O'Riely who are willing to put his money where his mouth and actively campaigns for wounded veterans. But your own personal hatred of the man blinded you to that fact huh?

Guess what, Hate is not only hidden under sheets and burning crosses, it is in the minds of people who make blanket statements and tell untruths to put down others because they think differently than yourself.

Personal attacks solve nothing, but you don't want to solve problems do you? you want to show how superior your really are... Guess what chum, your not superior to any one.

Funding for the VA is higher under this administration that it has ever been. I will never apologize to a newspaper. I do have to say that the Washington post has done a great job of illustrating what a government run medical facility will look like. Take a good look.

The Washington Post is not consistently a bad paper. But it's sick that you believe you have won some kind of victory. You haven't won anything. What's your problem?

Be careful with the gloating, my friend, the other guys will someday get the opportunity to gloat too. Just be glad that the scandal broke and is being investigated.
