I have a pair of white pants and I want to dye them red. What is the best way? Should I use my washing machine or the sink? I bought some rit dye yesterday.

For red dye, I would recommend using a plastic washtub.

Depends on the fabric. Polyester doesn't take dye very well and it could end up streaky. Since it's just one item the sink would probably be better. If the pants are jeans with the double seams the dye might not take very well and it could even get very dark on the seams. Be sure to wash the pants first to get any sizing or starch out of them and then follow the directions on the package or bottle.
