Take a look at:

http://www.schneiderjobs.com/drivers/Team.html

This is the Schneider web page for team drivers. They also provide training at Schneider Academy. Average team pay is up to $125,000 per year. Typically, you are on the road for 14 days and then have 3 days off.

I would suggest getting hooked up with a company like this if you plan to do team driving.

If you have discussed it with your partner and you are both very interested in it, its definitely worth a shot. Its extremely hard to find a 2-person career so if you have, its fantastic.

Go for it!!! and enjoy your life.

My husband is a truckdriver with 20 years experience. OTR trucking as a team usually means that you want to buy or lease your own rig. This is extremely expensive, unpredictable and exhausting however. Definitely reconsider that option. If you are looking for employment - you need to obtain your commercial drivers license first of course - my husband has a hazmat endorsement too so he hauls liquid nitrogen right now at $22.00 per hour. He wears a uniform and its a hard, dangerous job. I am a lawyer and the happiest person I knew in law school worked for UPS. They train, have excellent benefits and even paid my friend's way through law school. He liked it so much he graduated from law school and kept working for UPS!! OTR trucking sounds fun but it gets old fast. Sitting on your *** all day, eating at truck stops, never getting a decent shower or night's sleep. If you're looking for that kind of adventure then rent an rv or camper and take a nice vacation. that's what we did - we drove around Nova Scotia and Cape Breton in our pickup truck and had a ball. Stayed in bed and breakfasts and little inns every night. It was great fun but we were happy at the end of the week to get back to our comfy little beds. Good luck!!

i've got been using vans for over two decades. i does not recomend it to all and sundry till they're single and plan on staying that way. with a view to be sturdy at it you'll be able to desire to have a severe point of person-friendly experience and mechanical flair. those businesses, now days will hire all and sundry topersistent a truck. the only requirement is which you have a pulse. they're going to prepare you to circulate the truck from factor A to show B. that doesn't make you a truck driving force, opposite to familiar concept. once you get in a stuation one thousand miles from domicile or the terminal, you're on your guy or woman and extra effectual have the understanding and means to get your self out of what ever you get into. IE: following your corporation company's instructions and bobbing up on a 13' bridge with a 13'6" trailer at 2 am, with nowhere to coach around. businesses in basic terms decide to circulate freight. they do no longer care approximately the rest.they do no longer care approximately you, your loved ones, your wellbeing, your economic stability and the checklist is going on. they do no longer care approximately public secure practices, log books, hours of provider, drivers working without getting paid or sitting without getting paid. you would be dealt with like the backside variety of existence on earth by technique of in basic terms approximately everybody you come across. you would be talked right down to on a time-honored foundation. you will come across hundreds of impolite discourteous drivers an afternoon. approximately forty% of which would be different so called truck drivers. once you start up speaking to business company recruiters, in basic terms bear in concepts one difficulty. If their mouth is shifting, they're mendacity. The checklist of cons is going on and on. So in case you're waiting for all of that, shop thinking approximately it. If I have been you i might start up thinking alongside different lines.
