I would suggest you show your mom how responsible you are by asking her to sit down and talk. Tell her why you feel you are ready to date, that you feel you should have the same rules as your sister had at your age, and then ask her what her concerns are about you dating at this age, and what you can do together to help fight those concerns. I would suggest also that when you do date (if your parents allow you to) that you bring the boy home to meet your parents first, showing them that you want them involved in your life, and that you are not dating anyone that they would disapprove of.

Well she did say you could date at 16 and you are 16 now! I would just sit and have a great calm and quiet talk with her and tell her exactly how you r feeling. As her advice on things- moms love that! Tell her how much you really want to have these kinds of talks with her and that her toughts on things mean so much to you. Good luck to u! She is your mom and everything she does is out of love sometimes we r just not perfect! lol

You need to have a mature conversation with her. No whining, fighting, losing your temper. Just tell her how you feel and if you need to argue your side, do it calmly. The better you act, the more she'll listen to you.
