I want a school that won't just look at my highschool transcript, but at who I am as a person and artist. I plan to major in photography. Because I'm not a real academic person and I haven't done all the typical highschool classes, I need to find a school that won't focus on that so much but more on me and my potential in photography/art.
I am about to graduate in May and I want to apply for the fall semester. I know it's too late to apply to most schools at this point, but I do know that some art school still accept until about May.

Well actually I'm not screwed because I've found a school that I will most likely be able to get into and this school does not focus so much on academics and what you've done in highschool, they focus more on the kind of person you can become.

Most art schools are much more concerned with your portfolio than with the grades you got in high school. And most don't require the SAT.

If your portfolio is strong, I don't think you'd have trouble getting into a good art school. The only issue now is that you'll need to find one that's still accepting for the fall.

The best art schools out there include the following. You'll have to check their websites to see if they are still accepting applications:

- Rhode Island School of Design
- Maryland Institute College of Art
- The Art Institute of Chicago (not affiliated with the "Art Institutes", which is a chain of for-profit schools that's not very strong)
- The School of Visual Arts
- The Cooper Union
- Parsons
- Pratt Institute
- Corcoran College of Art
- Cranbrook Academy
- Maryland Institute

Since those are among the top, their admissions periods may have closed. But it's worth it for you to check.

Other strong art schools, which are slightly less competitive and thus may still be accepting applications, include:

- Savannah College of Art and Design
- Academy of Art University
- Massachusetts College of Art
- The School of the Museum of Fine Arts (Boston)
- Ringling School of Art
- University of the Arts (Philly)
- Moore College of the Arts
- North Carolina School of the Arts

And those even less competitive, but still respectable and good art schools:

- Maine College of Art
- Montserrat College of Art
- Otis College of Art

And lastly, a respectable art school that grants only associates degrees:

- Westchester Art Workshop (part of SUNY)

I list this last school because the education is good, the cost is reasonable, and I know for a fact that not only are they still accepting applications, but you are almost guaranteed to get in - it's open enrollment.

I've attached a list of art schools, below:
