I want to get a bass guitar. On eBay there is a store that sells them for $45. It is "the guitar warehouse." I don't know if I should do this but I didn't see any reason not to. Is it a good idea?

Well a $45 bass guitar is cheap in price, but could be cheap in quality also. I suggest not to buy it and buy a more known brand, such as Fender and Ibanez. They could cost 10x the $45, but it will last longer.

There is a review on eBay that shows a lot of people have been scammed by cheap guitars. If the guitar you are thinking of comes from China, I'd think twice before buying. You can read the review here:

you may attempt merchandising it someplace else, possibly to a chum, that often has a tendency to be particularly efficient =] i individually want a bass, yet I have not any money. when I get a activity, or as quickly as my Birthday comes around, I could be getting one xD possibly you may no longer sell it nevertheless if that is that distinctive! you'll be apologetic approximately it expensive.
