Genghis Khan. He had the largest contiguous empire in the world, ever. And he fathered like a bazillion kids.

First off...Ghengis khan was not a tyrant. He was a great and noble ruler who began a quest to conquer the world and his grandson, ogedei khan, finally succeeded. Although his words were law, he was also fair. He rewarded loyalty, unlike stalin, who shot almost everyone of the original bolsheviks and his generals. Aside from that, Hitler would b the favorite tyrant since he rose from just being an Austrian half-jew nobody to a dictator/tyrant that killed millions.

I agree with Vitiful. Ghengis Khan wasn't a tyrant! And talking about tyrants - I think there was one in China not long ago that certainly deserves mentioning here :)

Genghis Khan - for the sheer brutality.
At least he didn't pretend to be something he was not. With someone like that, you know where you're going.
