I have a friend from Puerto Rico who practices that. He told me he is getting getting close wearing all white which is what they all wear. He also told me he lets spirits go inside of him and can do bad stuff for people by talking to saints or something like that, if I'm not mistaken. Could he ever get out of that?

Yes It is true that people in the Voodoo Santeria, and other religions in this family allow the loa (gods and goddesses) to posess their bodies, and do certain things in ceremony.
Most people who practise Santeria and Voodoo are decent people that do not practise bad magic. However; there are a few bad apples, and they have been known to kill people via curses.
You asked about witchcraft; yes there are people who practise witchcraft.
I practise the magick of old Hawai'i. I am a kahuna, and yes there were bad kahuna too. The kahuna ana ana literally killed people with curses "The Secret Science Behind Miracles" by Max Freedom Long gives more than 30 documented accounts of Hawai'ian kahuna, and what they were able to do.
I don't practise bad medicine because I learned from first hand experience that what you send out is boomeranged back at you whether you want it or not. so I do not use my powers for evil at all.
There is another branch of Voodoo and Santeria called Candomble practised in Panama and Latin America that makes voodoo amd santeria look tame.

In theory one can always change a religion, but letting spirits in and out is just calling for bad times; some don't like to leave. Wear whatever color you want, talk to whatever god you choose, but don't let something actually take you over.
Wicca, however, is fine.

Bad it is getting so bad I understand legislators in Washington has formed a committee to look into it. And maybe even reenact old laws allowing witch burning again. Only when convicted of witchcraft in a court of law of course.

Witchcraft isn't bad as long as you don't use it for bad things. Like revenge or toture. I think witchcraft is fascinating. People misjudge and misuse it. Tell your friend that there are many warnings about witchcraft's black magic, and for him to get out of it. tell him i said if he doesnt get out of black magic i will take away his powers (not really but he doesn't need to know that)!

He could if he wanted. Its easy to stop but if he did something bad to someone and doesn't protect himself properly it can be reversed. Santaria is practiced by hispanics, and is not something to take lightly. He is telling you the truth about being able to talk to spirits and he needs to be careful when they "Enter" him, that can be very dangerous.

Sure he could get out of it, but would you want him to? It is part of his heritage. Don't change him.
Depends also on what you believe.
I believe in Karma. I think what goes around, comes around. So if he does do "bad stuff to people" then he'll get his from karma.

bad? what the.... now tell me how would you feel if someone was wondering how bad is your religion/culture, come one it`s just different from yours and different doesn`t mean bad or wrong...and, get out of that? would you get out of your religion/culture? i don`t think so, you see it`s the same thing with him, just because his culture is different it doesn`t mean it`s wrong or bad..
