Isolate the variables (you don't need the parenthesis there)
3x + 7 = 7x + 4
3x + 7 - 4 = 7x
7x - 3x = 3
4x = 3
x = 3/4

Begin : 3x+7 = 7x+4
Subtract 4 : 3x+7-4 = 7x
Subtract 3x: +7-4 = 7x-3x
Reduce : 3 = 4x
Divide by 4: 3/4 = x
X=3/4 or x=.75

I put up the foil method first because I didnt see the darn equal sign...it should go something like this
(3x+7) = (7x +4)
3x-7x = -4x
-4x=4-7 = -3
-4x/3 = 4/3
Hmm my answer seems to be different than everyone elses...I haven't been in algebra for awhile but I thought that was they way to do it....isolate all terms on one side then solve

3x + 7 = 7x + 4
Subtract 4 on each side
3x + 3 = 7x
Subtract 3x on each side
3 = 4x
Divide both sides by 4
x = 3/4 = 0.75

OK, try this:
(3x+7) = (7x+4)
-7 -7
3x = 7x-3
-7x -7x
-4x = -3
/-4 /-4
x = 3/4

3x+7=7x+4
1. Subtract 4 from both sides of the equation: 3x+3=7x
2. Subtract 3x from both sides of the equation: 3=4x
3. Divide both sides by 4: 3/4= x
and there is your answer: x=3/4

(3x+7) = (7x+4)
3x+7 = 7x+4
3x+7-4 =7x+4-4
3x+3 =7x
3x+3-3x=7x-3x
3=4x
3/4=4x/4
3/4 = x
x = 3/4

u put the like terms 2gether. subtract 4 from both sides so u'll get 3x+3=7x then u subtract 3x from each side. so ull get 3=4x. then divide by 4 and get x = 3/4.

(3x+7) = (7x+4)
(3x+7)-3x = (7x+4) -3x
7 = 4x+4
7-4 = 4x +4 -4
3 = 4x
3/4 = 4/4 x
3/4 = x
