unless she was drunk (and i still wouldn't understand why) why would she just start screaming racial profanities at the undercover cops. there has to be more to this. just curious.

She was not drunk. She was having breakfast at the diner with Nas and some friends when the incident happened.The Miami Beach Police stated she was impeding an undercover investigation into 2 prostitutes and they had been stopping men in the area and asking them, including Kelis' husband, Nas. So she yelled at them for stopping her husband and probably used the "N" word because they were probably just stopping black men.
Now let's explain a little bit about Miami Beach Police. They are for the most part okay BUT you do have a few of them that have ended up in altercations where they have picked on just one gorup of people, and used the racial words that they arrested her for. They do this to black, hispanics but especially gays. Ironic considering Miami Beach is the " gay " per se

I read about this, but the article didn't have many details. I agree that there's more to the story. It's all over the media because she's a popular music artist and they want to get some dirt on her. I'm sure it'll blow over soon and the truth will be far from what's in the media.

The police probably said sumthing out the way to her and Kelis over reacted. Hell the cops probably mistaked her for a prostitute maybe thats why she got so mad.
