Well the best way to clean your stone fireplace is this way , Try and find a stone that matches your fireplace dampen the stone and rub against the stone , always use clear water and never detergents or soap

Oxyclean. Follow directions and use a scrub brush and if you find that it cleaned too much then, do the whole brick face. Also get a sponge and a clear bucket of water and wipe it clean.

spray with a 50/50 mix of pinesol and water, then wipe off, also try a magic erase sponge.
