I have a 97 GMC Jimmy... I noticed that every time i would press the accelerator, I would hear something that sounded like "water-boiling" or "bubbling" coming from the front of the truck.

I ignored it, being the girl that I am.. lol ((blush)). Well a week ago or so, my truck began to overheat, so I added antifreeze, since it was low. That solved my problem for the rest of that day. Since then, I have to add antifreeze every time I want to drive anywhere... I guess it pours out pretty fast... because every time I pop open the hood, there is only a little bit of antifreeze left...

I decided to ask here first, before I take it to a mechanic, and they tell me 10,000 other things that have nothing to do with my problem.

Soooo... What can be the problem? What should I do? Any suggestions?

THANK YOU!!!

depending on the engine that is in it, there is the possibility that the intake manifold gasket is leaking around the water passages. that was a common problem on the 4.3 ltr engines. other possibilities are the radiator is leaking, hose connections, radiator cap and water pump going bad.. worst case scenerio is that you have a bad head gasket. look for any signs of a crustic looking formation on the intake manifold or seepage along the head for leaks at the intake. hope this helps and good luck.

Can you see where it might be leaking out? If not, then take the oil fill cap off of the engine and look to see if it has a cheesy brown buildup on it. Pull the oil dipstick and see if the oil looks like chocolate milk.
Does the exhaust make lots of white smoke?
If you don't see anything then you will have to take it to a shop where they can put a pressure tester on the system and trace where it's going.
Sorry 'bout the problems

first of all, where is the antifreeze leaking from? if you thermostat is stuck it can come out around the cap or overflow tank, or your radiator could be bad, also check your heater hoses and their connections for leaks, don't drive your vehicle like this for too long or you could do some serious damage to your engine.

it sounds like ur radiator is leaking or it could be the cap is broken and doesnt seal in the pressure , if its the cap take it to like kragen or something the cap is really cheap, if ur radiator is leaking then yea its gonna be pricey
