i think its a combination, they dont take the time to consider how people feel, so they never really let it dawn on them whut their doing, deep down they know, but on the surface they've fooled themselvs

Everyone was raised differently and everyone has a different way of thinking things out. Often it is hard to tell if a person is just plain rude or they are just plain ignorant. I think you have to kind of watch their actions for a while and decide for yourself. For example: I sometimes would get offended by my mother in-law when she would make weird comments to my baby like, "Oh mom, take me a shower." But after living with her for a year I realized that is just the way she is and she does the same thing to herself. Like yesterday she picked up my baby and said, " Oh grandma you never pick me up." Kind of a weird example, but you might think someone is being inconsiderate to you and then realize they are like that to everyone. It might just be the way they act on a daily basis and probably don't even know that they are offending people.

It's 50/50, people have a tendancy to ignore anyone but themselves. As a result, people tend to overlook some of the things they do.

I believe some do not care what you think or feel. People got a name for people like that where I come from. They are called ***holes.
The majority of others just simply do not know better.

Some people do it just to be jerks but then there are the people who really don't realize it. Sorting the two is the problem.
