I'm due September 14, 2007. Like you I am so anxious to find out what I am having. I already have 2 girls, so a boy would make me very happy, but if it's a girl, that would be fine also. I don't think there is any way of knowing what you're having, only through an ultrasound.

I'm guessing, as my due date is 14 Sept. that you're about as far along as I am. That means you only have about 4 weeks left to find out what you're having. I know you're impatient, so am I, but wait, you'll know soon enough.

For fun, you can do all the old wives' things. Ring over the tummy, the pins, your chinese charts - the whole shebang. Go to google and search for 'predicting a baby's gender' to get all the ways you can do this. But really, you shouldn't put too much faith in all these methods, it's just for general entertainment purposes. They only have a 50/50 chance of being right :)

Find an independent sonogram office in your town. I paid $65 for a 2D sonogram through a local tech called Sonotech. They can identify the sex as early as 16 weeks. Not only did I get to find out what I was having (another boy!) but I got a video of the ultrasound and got to see little Alex sucking on his thumb!!! For me I was too anxious to wait and it has made me really bond with my baby. I'm 20 weeks now, 1/2 way! And I'm already falling in love with baby Alex!!

Good luck to you!

They can tell for sure by amniocentesis, but they only do that procedure if they think there could possibly be something wrong, like a deformity. And the procedure isn't done until after 16wks, and by then you'll only be a few weeks away from having an ultrasound that could tell you the sex. So the risks from amnio isn't worth having done just to tell the sex. You'll have to wait a little while longer, just like everyone else! I know it's very exciting and hard to wait!!

Unfortunately the sonogram is really the only way to tell. The old wives tales aren't accurate, and neither is the chinese gender chart thing....

I feel your pain!! Waiting to find out the sex of my baby was really hard! Good luck!

sorry the only way you are going to know the sex of the baby is from your ultra sound. but no matter what the sex is as long as your baby is healthy that is what counts. I didn't find out until the day I delivered, and I wanted a girl but I got a boy, and if I had to do over again, Im glad that I had a boy.

There is no way of knowing till you have an ultrasound at 5 months...and even then its only a 50/50 % chance of being correct.

I know that this is going to sound really crazy, but it worked for me.

My grandmother was super super supersticious. When we found out I was pregnant, she threaded a needle and stuck the other end into a pencil eraser, then she held the end of the thread above my belly. The pencil swung side to side so she said it was going to be a boy. AND IT WAS.......
Side to Side=BOY In a Circle=GIRL

There is no sure way to know the babies sex before the ultrasound, but there are some fun ways..... try going to fortunebaby.com, and going to the chinese gender calendar, remember to add 1 to your age, It's not for sure, but I will tell you that everyone I know that has tried this, has had what it has told them.

You can't. Sorry - I do understand the anticipation just kills you, but there is no reliable method besides sonogram. (Even those are not 100% accurate.)
