Isn't this just an attempt by socialists to expand goverment and empower the politicians? Don't people realize that it's the middle class, not the elites that will pay for the economic impact of imposing global warming "solutions" on America?

Scientists have taken core samples from the polar ice caps and can read them much like they can read growth rings from a tree. This has shown a direct correlation between CO2 levels in the atmosphere and global temperatures. This is not some socialist plot. Most calls for awareness of global warming is a call for personal accountability in wise conservation of energy. It is not a call for imposing government regulations. Conservation and Conservatism have the same root word.

You are not the only one that feels that way ...
Scientific "Truth"

The British TV station Channel Four is coming out with a scientific rebuttal to Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth."
"The Great Global Warming Swindle" features experts in climatology, meteorology and other disciplines — from such places as MIT and NASA. The film disputes the link between carbon dioxide levels and global temperatures.
One scientist calls the recent U.N. summary report on climate change "a sham" that included the names of scientists who actually disagreed with its findings. The show also asserts that efforts to reduce carbon dioxide are killing people in Africa — who must burn fires inside their homes because their governments are being pressured to use wind and solar power — and cannot produce enough electricity for the continent.
Hopefully one of our stations will pick it up too.....

Just because something has not or can not be proved, it does not mean it has been disproved.
Here's an example: All humans will die. (Perhaps a human is alive or will be born who won't.) This is called a non-disprovable theory.
Since this can not be proved, would you argue that humans are not mortal
There is a preponderance of the evidence that global warming is happening, and that it is man-made. Scientists from all over the world, of all stripes, who publish their research and who are peer-reviewed, are of the opinion that this is the case. They will never prove it, or at least not until it is too late. Why wait when we might still be able to stop it? Why do conservative hate science?

I am a conservative that subscribes to the ideas of the greenhouse effect and global warming. Here's what I say to conservatives who don't. As fiscal conservatives, you have to at least appreciate the long term financial benefits of changing over to alternative energy sources. If not, then you definitely appreciate the benefits to homeland security that being independent of oil from the Middle East would give us.

The Earth has undergone several warming and cooling cycles in the past 6000 years. I just saw a report that shows the ice cap on Mars has been steadily receeding for the past three years.
Go figure! The sun goes thru cycles of sunspots, the resulting increase or decrease in radiation determines the temp, Not Al Gore!

Because of all the science behind.

We know climate datas from the last 650 000 from ice cores and we understand the correlation between CO2 concentration and temperature... emm WE except the americans

That´s why Chinese are now taking more steps than americans against global warming since they´re by far more threatened (especially around the Yellow River).

Personally I don't really care if man has caused global warming. How about if mankind learns to clean up after himself and cut down on pollution anyway, because it's the right thing to do???

Goo point. Who are we to say we can cause such a 'dramatic' shift in global climates. The climate and sea levels on earth have as you said been constantly changing. Without our help.
