I was really sick when I was 9 weeks. I am 16 now so just a a little over a month ahead but I still feel tired. The reasons our bodies get so tired in the first term is because all of you energy is working on getting the placenta ready. By the end of the first term the task is completed and you should have a lot more energy. I had to quit coffee on top of my first term it was pure hell I couldnt move at work because I was so exhausted. The reasons we get sick are because of all the added hormones we are producing and it should get better in the second term because your placenta takes over the nourshing of the baby. But I still get sick here there. So eating 6 small meals instead of 3 large meals is more ideal (to help with the "morning sickness") throughout pregnancy and better anyway because you wont gain so much of that excess weight (that we all love).

I felt sick, tired, and swollen. Im not pregnant anymore tho. I had my baby three months ago. It will get better for months 3-6, but after that, you are pretty much in pain all day every day. Something always hurts. So trust me, this is cake compared to what you will be experiencing in a few months. So TAKE A NAP. Because in the last months, there is no sleeping because there is no way to get comfortable with a huge belly. sleep now while you can, you will miss the little sickness and tiredness before you know it. Ok, I"m not pregnant, but I've had 3 kids. Everything that you are feeling is normal. You're tired, you want to puke all the time, your breasts hurt, you're emotional. It's normal. By about 16 weeks or so, tt gets better. You have more energy and you flow more. Come your last 6-8 weeks of pregnancy, you're tired again because your body is trying to store energy for the upcoming labor process. Good Luck and Congrats.

I'm now 18 weeks, but it wasn't too long ago I was right where you are. I was nauseas all the time, worse in the evening. I was really tired too, but I'm more tired this trimester then last. I think it's the fact that I'm chasing 2 toddlers around!! That will make anyone tired. Being tired is very normal. It's your hormones working over time, and your body learning to make a baby. Nothing wrong with that. When I was pregnant with my first girl, I would sit down to watch the news and would be asleep before they got done with the first story!! It was like that with my second daughter too. With this one, that didn't happen until just the last few weeks. Maybe that means this one is a boy ;) ?

Anyways, there are a few things you can do to help with everything. For nausea, try eating crackers or bread before you get out of bed in the morning. I used to keep a package on my nightstand, and would roll over and eat one or two before I got up. Really helped calm down my tummy. You can drink fruit juice before you get out of bed too, that seems to help. Eat small, frequent meals (4-6) throughout the day, focusing on protein and carbs. I know, we are always told that carbs are bad, but they aren't if you are pregnant and sick!! But if you can't handle even that much food, then eat little bits of food every couple of hours and eat what sounds good to you. Keeping food down is more important right now then what you eat. If you are really sick, stick with the BRATT diet- bananas, rice applesauce, tea and toast. This is a bland diet that helps with tummy problems.

Avoid fatty, spicy, greasy foods and foods with strong or offensive oder. Also avoid citrus fruits and juices. The acid can upset your tummy further.

Before bed at night, eat or drink something sweet- fruit or fruit juice- and eat a little something.

Take your prenatal vitamin at night before bed. It tends to help with nausea. Take 1/2 a unisom tablet before bed or 100 mg of B6 twice a day. If none of this works, talk to your doctor about a prescription.

Sleep as much as you can right now!!! You won't get much of a chance after the baby comes, so might as well stock up now!!

Good luck with everything!! I hope this helps!!

This must be your first. I'd like to tell you congrats! Being a mother is one of the most rewarding job there is. :)

When I was pregnant with my first, I think I slept through about 75% of it. Lol! I would sleep 11 to 12 hours at night, and then take a 2 to 3 hour nap every single day. My husband called me "the sleepdog". Lol!

Take advantage of the sleep with this first one. Once there are children around while your pregnant, you can't sleep like that anymore.

Good Luck!

I'm about 18 weeks but 9 weeks ago I was really tired too. Your body's making lots of hormones to get you through the pregnancy. My breasts were really tender as well to get ready for milk production. In the second trimester your energy should be alot higher and you'll feel better. Hang in there.

Yes, you are sleepy the first three and the last three months of your pregnancy. You cant do much about it. Its just your body getting ready for the baby the last months and the first three months is because your body is getting used to having the baby there. Just take the naps when you need to. ITs perfectly healthy with being tired. Get the rest now cause when the daring comes, its a different story. Good luck and congrats.

When I was 9 weeks, I would fall asleep at my desk in my office! Sitting straight up, I would just nod off. Sickness, I never throw up but just some really nauseated moments, to the point were I would have to drink something carbonated before I was even out of bed. At 9 weeks your body is still adjusting to the hormones but by the 2nd trimester, it will were off and you will enough energy to go all day long!

I am now almost 21 weeks pregnant and i at 9 wks i felt like crap. I am still on diclectin (anti-nauseant) and i was tired i had no energy . I know how u feel...sometimes it goes away but it is still possible that u could feel like this for the rest of your pregnancy... but every woman is different. With my first son i had no symptoms at all and i felt great and with the second one i feel the same way as i do now being pregnant with my 3rd. But hang in there all women are different

This is sooooo normal! for the first 3 months all i wanted to do was go bed at 8pm every night and sleep 12 hrs! Smallest of job felt like climbing a mountain! but there is a silver lining, i am now in my 18th week and have more energy now that pre-pregnancy! If your body is telling you it is tired, take the rest if you can. Listen to what it is telling you.
