They get senior discounts and it is a fixed price. That is important when you are on a fixed income.
Funny story. When I was in college our football offensive line averaged over 300 lbs. They were eating at Hometown Buffet almost every day and cleaning the place out. The manager told them that if they only ate there one day a week they could eat for free. They took him up on the deal .

My experience with hometown and old people is that either they love to talk to the kids and interact or they just love to complain. When I say complain that is what I mean, they dont have what they want to eat, the table is to far from the food, there is to many kids here. They enjoy it. I go because its easy and fast on a sunday afternoon before a movie.

Because the food is bland and it does not hurt their tummies. Also It's not too expensive and they can get out and see other people. AND someone else does the cooking and clean up.

My grandma HATES it! Other old people like it because of the discount, good prices, large variety.
I think its ok, i eat there about once a month with my family. The desserts are good!

because we are tierd of making home cooked meals for our kids for 25 years. This way we can get a home cooked meal dont have to cook it, clean up after cooking it and its brought to us instead of us having to wait on everyone else hand and foot.

i'd say becuz it reminds them of a gud ol home cooked meal, plus they have better since to eat there rather than fast fatten food.
