Java moss, by far :)
It grows in low light, does not need any fertilizers or CO2. You can attach it to driftwood or rocks using string, or just let it drift along the bottom.

for cleaning purposes and for the sake of not cloging your filter, I wouldn't cover the ENTIRE bottom of the fish tank. However, java moss is easy to grow in a fresh water tank. It's also good for the water quality. Java ferns also make nice plants and are easy to grow... you just tie them to a decoration with some cotton thread, leave the roots exposed. some plants and a natural looking gravel can make a very attractive aquarium that mimicks a real life environment.

When buying plants, you have to be careful about snails. Snails can quickly over run a tank. You should remove any you see from your tank immediately. Look closely. They are small!!!

I hear micro-swords look pretty much like a nice lawn of slightly fat grass blades, if you can grow them. I haven't had much luck, and I suspect they take a LOT of light.
