So long as the picture is in conclusion or has a value to the letter(such as sending a picture of a waterfall along with a letter about camping out), then it's all good. On the other hand, if the picture has some sort of conflict with the letter(a letter about a pic-nik with a picture of a meat-processing line), then you've got a problem!

I find the picture a little disturbing, though. I just think on a few snaps later when the kitten starts toying with the duckling

I see nothing wrong with it. It seems to me that i would love to recieve such a note. I am always open to something "Not commercial" but thought of by an intelligent person trying to be different.
