some places i look it says he murdered around 4 or 5 people or even up to 8. on other sites it says he killer 3 dozen people. even himself said he killed around 30 poeple. so does anyone know how many people he murdered and if he was actually telling the truth about killing 30+ people?

No one but him knows for sure. He claimed to have killed 37 victims but the police can only connect him with half a dozen or so. People get confused because their was an original zodiac killer in the San Francisco Bay Area and a copycat in New York.

That's just it. Nobody knows but him.
Based on what I've read, I'm guessing the real answer is close to 20 during the period he was most active, but it could be more since he was never caught. If he is still alive, I'm sure he is still killing.
