I am a fit and trim guy, 5'8" and 140#, stay in shape by running at least four times a week. I really, really hate big, baggy board shorts that hang past your knees, may as well wear jeans for swimming. Tried a Speedo and was hooked! They feel great, look great and make you feel so free in the water. I especially like the square cut brief type.
Okay, what's wrong with it? I hear people say Speedo's are nasty. Okay, why? Yeah, I know everyone pictures the fat old man that weights like 300 pounds and his big, fat stomach hangs over the waistband...well, that's not me. I was really just wondering if anyone has a real reason for not liking them other than someone else said that you shouldn't like them. I mean, really, what could look better on a young, slim guy than a hot Speedo?

I don't know what the big deal is either. I know what kind of suit your talking about (the one that is not like a super tight speedo)and I happen to care less if guys wear that kind of suit. They only time it bothers me to see a speedo on a man is if he is balding, hairy, and overweight. obviously you don't sound like any of these. Are you going to get comments from time to time, yes, but I think you are going to find the less ignorant people in highly populated metropolitan areas.
Also, when I see guys trying to swim laps in those things (board shorts) I feel bad for them! How can they even move, they are working 50 times harder than a person without it. Also, your stroke technique is much better.

Speedos are fine if you are swimming laps and doing excercises. It's lovely that you have a good body, but to be honest, do we all have to see what goodies you are packing.
Sorry but the speedo went out of style for a reason, totally tacky, shows more than is necessary. Try to find a bathing suit that is somewhere inbetween what you see as big baggy board shorts and the speedo, there has to be something that doesn't how it all to the world.

I guess people just don't want to see other people's packages.
But let me tell you, my boyfriend feels the same way. He was a swimmer back in high school and was on the relay team. He has tons of speedos, according to him. But even though he likes how it keeps his package from flailing about, when he goes swimming with his friends, he still wears swimming trunks but he wears his speedos underneath. Maybe you can try that.
But in the end, who cares what other ignorant people say? If they choose to label you as 'gay' then let them, they aren't worth your time. If you're a young, slim guy, go for it. Everyone thought that Michael Something guy was hot after he was in the Olympics and he wore Speedos as well.

My dear, sweet German boyfriend and I have had this discussion repeatedly. Let me put this as delicately as possible: While it may be a turn on for men to see as much as possible on a woman, women simply do not want to know as much about a man's package as a Speedo allows. It makes me uncomfortable to see a guy in a Speedo. It's like giving a speech and not knowing what to do with your hands. I keep thinking, "Look at his EYES, his EYES."

Okay...I think I just threw up a little. When I think of speedos, I think of my 60 year old father. It's great you are confident but seriously....you might as well admit you wear tightey whiteys...which is just as equally bad!! I am just partial to the boxers and "baggy board shorts" as you call them. Okay...if you still don't understand then watch SCRUBS....TODD!!! It's just a instant reaction to look away while gagging.....not to mention not sexy by ANY means!!! Nobody told me I had to dislike them, I just think they are horrible. Speedos and tightey whiteys to us are like granny panties to you!!!! It's one thing if you are swimming laps...I understand that (I was once on swimteam), but to wear them to a (pool) party of some kind is just disturbing.

Speedos are NOT as you say "hot", I don't care how good a physique you have. I don't know of any guy (well, straight guy, that is) that would be caught dead wearing one, especially in public. Let's leave a little to the imagination, shall we?

There is nothing wrong in that but be watchful. It is better to wear what others say suits you and eat what you think suit to you. This makes the difference.

It shows so much of you know, "which body part". It makes it look like ur wearing uderwear with a tennis ball in the front!!!! I'm not saying that it would look nasty but it's abit too revealing!!!!

OK gay dudes have a license to wear speedos cos speedos are gay... Now straight women loving MEN would never in a million years wear speedos not even to go swimming EVERYBODY knows that!!
