If you want a new laptop($400-600), just buy the cheapest model you can find, with everything integrated. On the Intel side, in order from faster to slower, Core 2 Duo>Core Duo>Pentium 4>Celeron On the AMD side, Turions X2 >Turion=XP-M>Sempron. The turion and Xp-m are about the same speed. I wouldn't go lower than a 1.5 Ghz or so of the newer model processors. If you go used, it gets more confusing. A pentium 3 laptop will work but movies would be tough, unless it's a top end, 1.0 Ghz or so. I'd stick with the newer models.

hi so why a pc is the main glaring question they value extra desirable than a working laptop or pc which provide you what you decide on for lots much less. the project with watching movies is the refresh value on the video this does devour ram memory at a severe value and if a pc is used this has a tendency to hold you as much as certainly one of those budget of those used for gaming as nicely. so have a think of roughly this because of fact the fee of a working laptop or pc setup will frequently artwork out at a million/2 the fee of a pc with the further benefit of the capacity to alter the video card with interior the pc which isn't an determination with maximum laptops because of fact the video section is equipped into the motherboard and is not interchangeable. so which you're caught with what it somewhat is whilst first bought.

Looks like you would benefit from an Intel Core 2 Duo processor for multi tasking. Dont worry all the new ones have this processor. Now its up to you to customize it and come up with a price estimate.
