I really don't think Bush will grant Libby a pardon. He didn't grant the border patrol agents a pardon even though they agree with him about border control. He thought what they did was wrong, as I am sure he believes what Scooter Libby did was wrong. The President has used his ability to pardon responsibly for his entire term so far and I have no reason to expect anything different in the remainder.

Libby's attorneys will file appeal after appeal and when Dub'ya's presidency is nearly over, he will quietly pardon Libby. Think of it this way - Libby kept Cheney out of jail and he also kept Dub'ya out of the hot seat. People I hang with are really sick of Dub'ya and the way things have deteriorated in America. How long before the citizens say that enough is enough?

I'm going to guess that he won't. While pardons are part of a President's powers, it's unwise to pardon a member of your own "team." Particularly in a case like this, where other people (the VP) could be implicated.

He won't. Despite Bush's leaning towards helping his friends, it'd be a political mistake for him to issue a pardon. The party leadership will make it clear to Bush that they don't want it to happen.

Libby won't get a pardon. It's too obvious.

He'll do a couple of years in a country club and be rewarded with an eight-figure job as payback for keeping Cheney out of prison.

Who cares! The man is being wrongfully prosecuted for supposedly lying about a crime that was never committed (the supposed outing of Valerie Plame as a CIA "operative". The person who wrote the definition of what constitutes an "operative" has stated very publicly that Ms. Plame never fit the definition.) If Clinton can be pardoned for lying while under oath (he was impeached, but was exempted from sentencing because he was president at the time), why should this man be the liberal media's target for revenge, and make no mistake this entire fiasco is a blatant act of revenge prosecution.

And, supposedly the justice dept. has a signed agreement that none will be sought in this affair
BUT-- who knows from one minute to the next what Junior is going to do-- don't really think HE knows
After all--- He IS the Dictator !!!!

quiet judication will be covertly slipped in and executed and the next that anyone knows -- this traitor will be sipping mint julieps under a palm tree in some white collar "holding facility" in Florida-- that has massage services -- a golfing green--- wide screens and pool and he'll serve the shortest time possible in this hell hole before they send him to Pepperdine to set up his new career as an overpaid political science professor !!!!!

Yeah why no longer, corruption in no way damage something in this u . s ., or any u . s . for that count number number. only ask all of us that lived/lives contained in the U.S., China, Cuba, Nigeria, Mexico, etc. about the marvelous consequences which have got here about through human beings stepping around the justice equipment.

Dont know if he will or wont, but I do have one question. When a person gets in a vehicle every day, Monday thru Friday, drives to CIA headquarters, and parks in the parking lot and goes to work, WHY is it a crime to say, " she works for the CIA"????
