My CD Rom is possesed....?

My CD Rom will run in random spurts, by itself, even when no one is on the computer. Any ideas? virus, needs replacing, ????

It does not open and close by itself. It still works, but if you are dubbing a CD or making a power point presentation it garbles the sound when it comes on.

Id say virus do a scan.
Does it open and close by itself too?

If it's doing some random "exercising". It needs to be replaced.
