Actually, I have heard of this in the recent past. It's usually championed by the same groups that want to take "under God" out of the pledge, keep nativity scenes out of public areas, and the 10 commandments out of government buildings.
The founding fathers founded this country under a key Christan value, that being self determination. Yet at the same time, they were adamant that the government not have a state sponsored religion, which is kind of a paradox, but it has worked well for 200 years. Now we have nut balls stating that any mention of God is state sponsorship of religion, which I do not believe to be the case. The Christan foundation of our constitution allows people to believe whatever they want. In some Muslim countries even to this day, conversion to any other religion is punishable by death. Obviously, their religion has low tolerance to other beliefs.
I also agree with you that more wars have been caused by religion than anything else...the Crusades, War of the Roses, the 100 years war, recent Pakistan / India tension, and has also led to numerous terrorist activities like what happened in Northern Ireland and what has occurred leading up to 911 through the present. But as Descartes said, religion came about when the first rascal met the first idiot. There may be some truth here.

When they did away with the Silver Certificates in the 1950s "In God We Trust" was added to paper money. Since we no longer backed our money with silver all we had left was trust in God. Seriously, putting "In God We Trust" on money is not favoring any particular sect or religion. A generic term for God is a God of each of our understanding and should offend no one. There are a few atheists (about 2%) whose rights should be respected. The efforts of these atheists, agnostics, the ACLU et al to remove God from the public eye is greatly exaggerated. The "culture wars" is mainly an invention of right wing Christianist theocrats who want to make our religion promoted by the government. God and Religion will always be in the public eye and no one can stop that. It should not be part of government or promoted by government. The 1st amendment forbids establishing a state religion. Christ Himself said "Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's and to God what is God's"
The notion that the founding fathers were all Christians is not entirely true, either. The founding fathers were basically Deists, rather than affirmed Christians. Thomas Jefferson was a Unitarian. The Christianity of the Founding Fathers who were Christians, bore little resemblance to the Christianity of today's fundamentalists. They were more Anglican and closer to today's Episcopalians, Lutherans and Catholics.

This country was founded mostly by Christians, and even though we believe in a separation of church and state, and have established that people are free to follow whatever religion they want, the founders, who were deeply religious, were the ones who put this all together. Whether or not God should be left on money or left in courthouses or in the Pledge is irrelevant really, because this confusing practice has become a part of our heritage as Americans. Changing it now is only going to enrage the ultra-Conservative Christian right (who are way too smug for their own good), and arguing about it is only going to enrage the ultra-Liberal left (who may or may not be Christian, and who are also sometimes smug). Best to just leave it alone and worry about something else.

I think by keeping it on the money it would be a good reminder of where the country has come from. But I do feel that using religion in this way (swearing on a bible in court, praying at school etc) is trying to force the religeous beliefs on other people.
There was a fight to band teaching evolution in schools, shouldn't the same apply for religion?

As long as we respect the beliefs of others there is no problem including religion in public affairs on buildings etc. If you include a copy of the Ten Commandments why not a passage from the Koran, Baghavad Gita, or the Upanishads? If you display a cross why not a Buddha or jiva or Ganesha?
When I was in school we had one kid whose family was Jehovah Witness. They do not believe in saluting the flag. We allowed him to not do so when the rest of us did. The only thing was it was recommended that he at least stand so he doesn't look out of place. Standing, remember, was not required. Respect for others beliefs came early in my upbringing it obviously did not in many others as they are very intolerant. Intolerance is what causes wars.

according to danger the Dems in 2000 have been bitter because of fact the election replaced into stolen? The election wasn't stolen this time; hence, the Repubs have not any reason to be bitter. Bush is being gracious in simple terms like Clinton replaced into. The Clintons had not something to do with what their staffers did as quickly as they left the White abode.

I'll just address the heavy ink. So what if they are? Better a clear enemy than a false friend. What's more disgusting? That or some abject hippocrite sitting in a church pew basking in sanctimonious pride? For the record, that was all intended for your individual benefit. The realities are quite apart.

People aren't as dumb as they look, When they find out that they have been conned they generally eliminate the conner form their midst. Thus the fraud of organized religion is being discarded for the fresh air of reality. By the way evolution exists and they found your ancestor's bones.

newly printed money should not have In God We Trust printed on it, however to replace all of the money that already does have it on there it would be too costly.
I too believe that religion is the number one cause of war, or any violence really
