What is suggested to pack for myself and baby for the delivery, hospital stay, and coming home? It is a planned Csection if that makes any difference.

The only clothes you'll need for the baby are coming home clothes, and 1st picture clothes. The hospital supplies the diapers, and the little gowns they wear. They like them to stay in those gowns while still in the hospital because they can get them off the baby quicker if they need to do any monitoring or anything.

For yourself, pack the toiletries you will want, several pair of underwear, a nursing bra, and a couple of gowns and robes/slippers. And something to wear home from the hospital.

Our daughter-in-law had a C section back in January. She was only in the hospital 2 nights, going home on the 3rd day.

Hospitals nowdays give u a lot of stuff when u are there and for going home...the only things u will need:

Socks *some hospitals give u them anyways so maybe just one pair*

toothbrush and toothpaste *hospitals give these too but if u love your own then use yours*

baby going home outfit *for pictures and the ride home*

outfit for u to go home in

a book, crosswords or headset *if u dont like tv much, otherwise enjoy the free cable =)*

hairbrush..panties..deodorant..chap stick and a good lotion.

The rest such as diapers, wipes, formula, breast pads, pacifier, bottles, baby shirts, baby hat, socks for u,baby blnkets etc are all items the hospital will provide u with,...i packed all of these with both deliveries and was just fine....dont forget the car seat..

Good luck!!

What to pack for yourself
After your baby is born, you’ll want to keep things simple. Here’s a list of things you’ll want to bring to the hospital:

Comfortable clothes, including something loose and flowing to wear home
Robe and nightgown
Nursing bras
Slippers
Sanitary pads
Toiletries (shampoo, toothbrush and toothpaste, skin care lotion, hairbrush, deodorant, etc.)
A few pairs of maternity panties
A battery-powered CD player with headphones so you can listen to relaxing music while you’re in labor
A pocket name book if you haven’t chosen a name for your baby
What to pack for your significant other/coach

Toiletries
Change of clothes if your significant other/coach will be staying overnight at the hospital
A camera and film and/or a video camera
What to pack for your baby

Car seat — By law, you have to have a child car seat to take your baby home. Make sure it’s installed correctly.
Diapers
Receiving blanket — Bring other blankets if the weather is cold.
An outfit to wear home (including socks and booties)
Onesies — These are baby "bodysuits" that are designed for ease of dressing and changing, and add an extra layer of warmth under the baby's outfit.
A hat — You might be able to keep the one the hospital puts on your baby.)
You might also want to bring snacks such as granola bars, crackers, dried fruit, etc. After going into labor, you will probably be hungry. You should also bring change for the vending machines in case the hospital cafeteria is closed.

Do NOT bring a cell phone (each room has a telephone for patients to use), cash, credit cards, jewelry, or other valuables with you to the hospital.

1)Robe/slippers
2)Going home outfit for baby, and for you (keep in mind you will still need maternity clothes)
3)Toiletries (shampoo,etc.), toothbrush
4)I took make-up, it made me feel good to put it on, and hair bands to pull your hair up if it's long (I was hot the whole time)
5)An extra blanket, socks, and hand mitts for the baby (in case the hospital will not clip his nails, he might scratch himself alot)
6)Nursing bras if you wish, but your milk will not come in until you go home. You may want to wear them just to get adjusted to using them.
7)Pads-- You will have at least light bleeding (I stole the cold-pack ones from the hospital, those feel great)
8)Camera/video camera/laptop if you have one to email pics right away!
9)Baby's car seat-- be sure you already know how to install and use it.

I also recommend going to websites like babycenter.com to get more detailed list that might have things on it that the rest of us have forgotten. Good luck!
