Well, the neuron or muscle would not receive the stimulus. This can either occur by blocking the receptor sites, or altering/binding the neurotransmitter in the synapse.. Sometimes done on purpose, sometimes not good!

If that were to happen, then any impulses from that nerve would be blocked and could not be passed to the next neuron or to the muscle cell.

i would assume that if a neuron was unable to jump the synaptic cleft, the muscle would rapidly fatigue and atrophy would set in. eventually making it useless...

do u know what bipolar is? then thats the reason why u bipolar as a result is because ur nuerotransmitters are being blocked.
