I have found out Im having a baby girl in May and planned to call her Seren, which means Star in Welsh. I have been think of this name from the moment i have found out im pregnant! Now I hear today the Charlotte Church is pregnant and she is intending to call her baby Seren!!! im miffed because I wanted a nice, unique pretty name. If she calls her child this it will be as common as Sarah in a few years!! Now, do I change my mind or go with it? I know its not a major deal really, but its dammed annoying!

I'm sure Charlotte Church will be happy to change her baby's name if you just let her know how you feel about this. Probably the only people in the world who know what she's naming the baby are you and her and now the people who have read this post and believe me, if I'd known how trivial this question was going to be, I'd not have clicked on it. Yes, I know you are preggers and it makes you crazy but try to get a grip. I wonder how many hours your poor husband has had to listen to this tirade. LOL Poor you! People are finding out from their sonograms their baby is going to be born with one eye and you are freaking about nothing. Two kids on a planet with 6 billion people and you are upset!

I totally understand, I used to love the name Emma until that darned Friends episode where Rachel named her baby Emma. I was mad. But in your case, I think you're still safe. I mean Charlotte Church is fairly well-known here, but not enough for her baby's name to become a huge fad. I really think it will still be unique. I didn't even know she was pregnant, I haven't heard anything about her in a long time. So stick with it! You love it, it's pretty, you thought of it first, and that's that. Congrats! (I'm due May 21st, baby boy-- great month to have a baby!)

I picked out the name Mason for my son while I was prego. It is a family name (mother's maiden name) and I had very rarely heard it used as a first name for a boy, and then when I was about 6 months pregnant I found out that Melissa Joan Hart (Sabrina the Teenage Witch star) had named her son Mason. I was so mad, and then I started hearing about more and more little boys named Mason. I think that you just start to notice it more once you have decided on the name.

Its like when you buy a car, say a white pontiac, you rarely see one until you are driving one and then they are everywhere!

I would still go for the name. I have a name picked out already if i am having a girl and one for if its a boy *i wont say though cause like u the name is soo nice dont want noone to take it* but i would too be pissed if someone took the same unique name. I say go for it anyways and name your baby that..maybe there is another way u can spell it? otherwise just stick with it and enjoy your babys name..good luck!!

I think it'll still be unique because not everyone copies celebrity names (ex. Apple, Coco, etc.). It's still a very pretty name and unless Charlotte Church plans on copying your nursery theme and stealing your doctor or midwife, it's nothing to get too upset about. I'm sure your baby won't care when she's older.

If your baby is born first then just go with it Seren. That's a really pretty name actually. it's very different. I doubt that a lot of people will start naming their baby girl's Seren, just because she did. She's not that popular.

Go with it. Just because a celebrity uses a name doesn't guarantee it will become common. Look at Gyneth Paltrow naming her daughter Apple and people aren't running out to use that name. Best of luck.

That is a beautiful name.
I would call her Seren anyway. I had a friend who purposely called her dog the name I liked, but i thought i love the name, i will still call my little girl it anyway, and im glad I did.. the name was Lily. LOL. Congratulations on your pregnancy.

I would still go with the name. It's sure different, but if you had it picked for a while, I would go with it. I named my first son Tyler because down here, you didn't hear that name much, but now, it's everywhere and I hate it, but it's life you know? Good luck. Don't change your mind.

I don't really see that name catching on. Besides, there are no "original" names left. Someone, somewhere already has it. Its a pretty, unique name and you seem to like it quite a bit. Name your baby that. Best of luck to you.
