If you don't mind putting out extra money, go to the Estee Lauder counter. I've used her foundations for years and they are marvelous. The representative will help you choose a type that
is compatible with your skin type, and you're sure to get the right shade. Good luck

Tinted moisturiser sounds like the way to go if you don't want to look "made up". Go get make-overs at a number of counters; try products out. And don't feel pressured to buy - tell the make-up girl you want to see how the product lasts before you spend your hard-earned cash. It's also worth testing things to see whether your skin reacts to them.

My mum is 53 and she really liked my Rimmel Recovery foundation as it's moisterising and not very thick in consistancy. It's made you make you look less tired so looks like what you are looking for. I can also recommend Clinique's foundations which are also very good.

Like the other members, I suggest a tinted moisturizer w/ SPF since you have good skin. Shiseido makes a good one.
If there are areas you feel you need a bit more coverage, then use a little bit of concealer.
For some product information, I refer to:
www.cosmeticscop.com (reviews, application tips, etc.)
and
www.makeupalley.com. (free member/consumer to consumer reviews of all kinds of beauty products)

If you do not generally wear a lot of make-up, use a dab of foundation in your moisturizer. This way you can have a summer and fall color and not spend for the 'tinted-moisturizer'.
Creme foundations are nice.

A little blush along the cheek bones or a tinted moisturizer. A "swish" or two with a mascara wand...and you are beautiful....Good Luck

Go with a tinted moisturizer. Laura Mercier is a little pricy but it is so natural and will just give that little boost that you are looking for.
