Baby food:
Costs about 50 cents a jar but you won't need that til baby is 6 months anyway.

Bibs:
You can get anywhere usually for a buck each or less

Breast pumps:
Range anywhere from 35 bucks to 300 bucks depending on what you get (I would get a dual electric and that should run you about 228 if you go to www.lactationcare.com)

Pads:
I breast feed and I don't need them so you may not either...but I cant imagine they are too pricey

Baby cereal:
Is like $1.50 a box unless you buy jarred and then it's about 60 cents a jar.

Formula:
Again I don't know because I breast feed, but a quick stop at www.target.com ought to tell you what you need to know..

The ages don't really apply because alot of the stuff you're talking about can still be used through these ages...

Bottles:
Depends on what brand you buy. If you buy ones with liners it's a little more expensive...but SOOOOO much more convenient.

Cost wise, Health wise and convenience wise...I'd breastfeed if you can...it's soo much easier and its free!

Good Luck!

Check with your local health department. They offer wic which helps alot. They also sometimes give out free breast pumps. Bottles dont cost much. I used cloth diapers on my son so I only spent about 20 a month on diapers for him which were only for at night and when we went somewhere. Baby food is usually less than a dollar for a jar but you can make your own. Formula cost alot unless you get wic. The formula that I switched my son to after I quit breastfeed was about 11 dollars a can which might last a couple of days. I still had to buy extra after we got the wic.

Check prices for these items at places like Wal-Mart, Target, Babies R Us, or your local supermarket depending on where you plan to shop to get a better idea of what prices are in your area.

If you are trying to decide on whether or not to breastfeed, I encourage you to consider more than just the cost. Breast-milk is free, always the right temperature, no preparation needed and it provides your baby with antibodies to ward off illnesses and increases the mother-child bonding experience.

Breast pumps start at around $50 and go much higher but I was behind a lady at the supermarket who spent $85 for 8 cans of Similac! Perhaps you can request one as a shower gift if the cost concerns you.

With breastfeeding theres no real extra cost.

Babies don't need to start solids until they can feed themselves and you don't need to buy anything special for that.

Baby food and cereal is just junk and should be avoided.

So...
1-3mon: free
4-6mon: free
6-9mon: maybe $50 total in extra food (it wouldnt really be enough to notice a difference in your budget)
9-12mon: $50-100 total... still not eating very much extra.

its hard to give you an idea, because you may be like me and except used clothing, and you may be more like my sister in law and not want anything used, and want it all new. if you are ok with used clothing you can get them at salvation armies or thrift stores. and prices also vary from store to store. if you are in canada/ontario there is a website you can go to, that everyone offers free stuff, its freecylce.org
