Few here will have heard of Saga, a Canadian prog rock band from the 70s.... still putting out top-notch music.

I have a bunch of favorite trivial bands. One of my all-time greats is Giuffria, a hair-metal band that put out two albums in 1982 and 1986. Both albums had good but typical guitar sound and average lyrics, but a huge vocal effort from the lead singer makes these CDs worth every EBay penny. Singles include "Call To The Heart" (1982) and I Must Be Dreaming (1986).

Their lead vocalist is David Glen Eisley, the guy who lent the fantastic vocal to that 2003 Spongebob episode where Squidward has to lead a band. Eisley donated that vocal without credit, as he's still truly a leader in teaching children.

Matt Mays + El Torpedo

A great Canadian band heavily influenced by Neil Young and Tom Petty with a bit of a modern twist. Heavy and melodic. Find them on amazon.com
