It closes at night, and is the only one that has bloomed in the yard so far.

awwww sweetie pie spring is on its way, its the crocus, they are a bulb plant, like a tulip. there is a site, looks just like yours! Wow thats nicer to see than all the snow!

Hard to tell. Most flowers, especially spring blooming, will close at night for conservation of energy. Go to the library and check out a garden book.

It looks like a crocus, they are generally the 1st to bloom after winter and are from a bulb, so they come back each year.

It's a crocus all right. I planted a bunch of them throughout my front lawn this past fall. One of the colors I got looks just like yours. I haven't seen any of them up yet at my place, but we still have snow covering the ground. They look quite lovely in the turf grass and will generally dry up and go dormant before you need to mow. I love them.

Thats definately a crocus. Lucky you! They don't grow in my climate!
