I tried to get one in Las Vegas and I promised to pay it back with my winnings. You've never heard so much laughter.

Don't do it.

Go to your bank/credit union and apply for an over-draft line of credit. They will charge you less than your credit card company will (if you have a decent credit score).

When you need money, you just write a check and over-draw your account. The over-draft line kicks in to pay it back and you can re-pay it right away.

If you use your credit card, you will pay a very high rate of interest from the second you take out the money and you will not be able to pay it off until you get your next statement.

Best advice, don't use the overdraft/cash advance to go to a bar or something like that. They should both only be used in emergency situations.

You pay a fee and interest from the moment you get the cash.
