I have heard about a program that you can download that lets you track everything that has been typed in on your pc. I'm not sure where to get this and I hate to spy on my kids with their my space stuff but my daughter is acting strange lately and is on my space constantly every day like she can't wait to talk to someone. Other stuff goes on with that but I would rather not get into that....just need the program and need to know she is not doing anything super destructive to her life. Please don't answer if your going to bash me for spying on my kids....you don't know the whole story behind that so please don't judge me. Thanks!

What you're looking for is called a keylogger. You can get either a hardware or a software version. The hardware version will be undetectable by any forms of anti-virus programs, but will be physically visible on the back of the machine where the keyboard plugs into. The added benefit is that you can just put the device on the computer when your daughter isn't looking and remove it later for data mining on your own computer. This is one example of a PS/2 style device: http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/security/5a05/

Software keyloggers are cheaper, but can be cumbersome to stealthily install without a good deal of technical proficiency and time spent on the computer. If installed properly, they have the added benefit of being able to email you a daily log every day.
Here is an example of one: http://gore-research.com/products/fingerprints/

The most important thing will be keeping this intrusion secret as it may completely destroy your daughter's trust and make the situation even worse. I'd recommend practicing with any software loggers on your own system for at least a week before trying to get it going on hers.

Eblaster by spectrosoft, you can go to spectrosoft.com, the program is about 80$ but worth it. I have kids and there is absolutely nothing wrong with checking on who they talk to and what they do. There should be more parents doing this..too much freedom online is asking for trouble, as a parent you have a right to know. Its better to be safe than sorry, believe me in the long run you will be glad you did, teenagers are not always open to tell their parents things that they need to know. good luck! There maybe some free programs out there but they may not offer exactly what you want, do a search on monitoring software or freeware.

yeah these programs are called keyloggers, that log all keystrokes and store it, there is also more fancy programs like this
http://www.acespy.com/ which log screenshots and the program stays hidden when running so cant tell there is a program logging everything on the pc.
