Figure out how many repeats of your pattern you will get for a 4" x 4" square (a swatch) so that you can plan out the final strips in a way that will make sure that they will match up when finished.

Making rectangles is no more difficult than making squares for crochet; it's a versatile art!

Do you already have the rectangles? Assuming they're all the same size lay them with long side next to long side and short side next to short side. Work out how many you need horizontally and how many vertically to make the size of blanket you'd like. You could either join them into several "scarfs" of equal lengths and then join the scarfs to make a blanket. Or you could start in one corner, add a square next to the one you have and one below, then next to and below the two you added and so on. So long as you keep joining long edge to long edge and short edge to short edge this should work.

To join them you can either sew them up, or crochet them together. I'd then crochet a border all around the outside of the blanket.

If they're not all the same size it's trickier. You can either spend ages working out a detailed way to join them, or you can crochet extra rows on to the smaller ones to make them match the bigger ones.

Good luck!

So they are not squares are they. They are rectangles. Surely it is obvious you just sew them together to the desired width and length.
