As far as I know, the Dixie Chicks were never called or charged with treason. Its free speech no matter how you look at it. They have the right to put their opinions out there, even though they are probably uninformed and biased the same way Ann Coulter is allowed to call Edwards a ******, probably uninformed and biased. They are all stupid remarks and people should learn to not pay attention to these idiots. Thanks and have a nice day.

Now wait a second...this is coming from the same party of people who say burning the american flag is free speech? plus you got the libs not shutting up about Coulter saying that, calling her anti-american and evil, so don't even give me that.
And second of all, the democratic party stood behind the dixie chicks all the way saying it was "free spech". But Ann Coulter making a "playground taunt" as she called it is evil and way out of line? While Ann coulter is even too extreme for me sometimes, she's still more intelligent and her words are more justified than the commie chicks.

Well, frankly, I don't care about what either of them said--
But, they are somewhat different. One criticized the president sort-of (and rightfully so). And, the other made a sophmoric comment about a potential candidate. The former is more about policy and decisions. The later simply a personal attack.
Regardless, both are expression of free speech. But let's not forget, free speech is about not being persecuted by the gov. for your speech. That doesn't mean there aren't OTHER consequences. The Dixie Chicks found that out first-hand by their red-neck fans (or ex-fans). And Coulter will suffer little fall-out other than maybe a few cons criticizing her.

No. Prove up where someone put in ink that the Dixie Ditzs were accused and charged with treason.
Ann Coulter has her right to free speech. Hate speech is ugly but it is still free speech.
Now off to the unemployment office with you to find that next job so you stop bothering thinking people on Yahoo Answers

Ann is obviously a homophobe.... I think when she was only 15, a group of young, tough gay guys cornered her in an alley, and then proceeded to gang reject her.
Calling Bush a disgrace is not treason, but it certainly is not respectful of the Office Of The Presidency. No matter how much we may disagree with a President, he is representing us, and we diminish that noble institution when we irresponsibly tarnish its image.

Did Ann really say that? Sounds like something a liberal would say. Shame on her for resorting to grade school tactics.
As far as the Dixie Chicks goes-- Who cares what they say? Intellectual giants they aren't.

No. You have it wrong as usual. What the Dixie Clucks said WAS also free speech. But if people choose to not buy their CD,s or go to their concerts, that is also a right. Correct?
Got that straight now?

Well, I guess it's ok in what passes as your um, 'mind' for Jesse Jackson to talk about "Hymietown", for Robert Byrd to talk about "wiggers" and n*ggers", for Al Gore to shout about our sitting President betraying this Country and an entire laundry list of utterly venomous remarks from Bush bashers, but you and your ilk are the first to screech when someone from the other side of the aisle takes offense and retaliates, huh?
Yeah, good job standing up for that Free Speech for all, thingy.....
