Gorillas make nests each evening on the ground or on the lower branches of trees. Males tend to sleep on the ground, one to a nest while females and the young prefer the trees.

Almost every night, the gorilla will select a tree and build (from branches, etc.) a "nest." The nest is not used again; the gorilla will build another one the next night.
