I've never heard a specific age on that one. I searched for info. about it too and couldn't find anything, so I assume it's safe. We also use mushrooms quite a bit and my daughter hasn't a problem.

You can give mushis immediately (after 6 months, that is when I started solids). There is no medical reason to exclude most anything, except the things that most people know about - ie nuts, eggs, honey, salt (I just read somewhere that strawberries are not so crash hot though???) etc etc. It is a very western thing to do - to limit food. Unless you have allergies in your family, then experiment away with taste! My daughter LOVES ratatouille and has since about 2 weeks into eating solids :)

If there's any doubt, why would you give it to an infant. Stick with foods you are SURE won't harm your baby. Talk to a physician during his/her one year check up. I eat peanut butter every day, but I'm not going to give it to my infant.
