Ok, i really believe that i didnt socially develop enough as a child (i got my first phone number from a friend in the 7th grade! and the only reason they gave me it was because they thought i was cute.)

I would appreciate it if some one gave me a list of social do's and donts. For example:

~ "Don't tell people that you forgot to wash your hands after using the bathroom... you should keep that to yourself."

oh, and to give u some background on me, im a dude and im in highschool, and im from da hood.

--try to be as open and honest with people as you can

--that being said dont be so honest that what you are saying might hurt someones feelings (The old addage if you dont have anything nice to say dont say anything at all) Make sure you say things with tact, or put a posative spin on constructive criticism.

--You dont have to share things that are very personal (anything concerning bodily functions comes to mind here considering what you said in your question) Sometimes if you say to much about yourself especially with people you just met it makes them uncomfortable.

--Ask people questions about thier lives and interests. No one wants to hear you talk about yourself all the time and they will aprrecaite that you are trying to get to know them.

---be able to laugh at yourself, you'll have more friends if you arent insecure and you have a good sense of humor.

---dont make jokes at other peoples expensense and dont laugh at someone else unless they laugh at themselves first.

--try not to purposefully exclude anyone, is just plain mean.

--dont worry so much what other people think of you, i found that out at the end of highscool, the less i cared about being popular the more freinds i made, and ironically enough, once i stopped caring i was actually pretty popular. People like people who arent superficial and who are okay with themselves. Confidence is an attractive quality both in the opposite sex and in friends.

Love the fact that you're plain honest - just yourself. That's always good. Two things you can do that can keep you out of trouble:

When talking to someone, always ask yourself the following before speaking:

1) "If someone was saying this to me, would i be offended?"
2) "Can this be taken the wrong way?"

In general - just be yourself, but always THINK before you talk. ...
Specially with us girls.
