You could try mederma. I used mederma to reduce the appearance of my horizontal c section scar, and though it does not go away completely it fades. You should be able to find it at a drug store.

My Mom had 2 vertical c sections and eventually, after losing a lot of weight, had a tummy tuck which got rid of the c section scar. I guess that is an option down the road too if you want to go to all the trouble.

I would suggest using maderma skin cream. It helps reduce the apperance of scars. As for bathing suits...if you get the new Victorias Secret catolog there is a really cute one/two piece. The sides of the stomach are cut out and a band connects the top to the bottom down the front and the back. So cute!!!! Give it a shot you'll be the sexiest and most stylish mom around!

Was this your first child? I have had two cesareans but they were bikini ones not vertical. My mother had the vertical ones though. I had a huge scar from the first one and when I went in for my second one the doctor shaved the area where the scar tissue was there. Looks and feels 100% better. Try some cocoa butter lotion, that seemed to help keep mine smooth. Also you can ask your doctor about a cream that can help reduce the look of the scar. Hope this helps.

It will get better and become less noticeable as time goes by. It takes time. I had to have my gall bladder removed after my first child was born and it left a scar across my tummy *up and down* and less than a year the scar got soo light and only about 1/2 inch or so,so it is hardly noticeable. U can try using strivectin sd or some mederma to minimize the appearance..u can purchase these over the counter at drug stores. For the bathing suit, they have really nice ones that are like bikinis but cover the front of the tummy but show hips and they are really popular..http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.filly.ca/taste_and_style/fashion_report/in_style_now/images/Suit-Up-1.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.filly.ca/taste_and_style/fashion_report/in_style_now/suit-up.asp&h=295&w=300&sz=52&hl=en&start=66&tbnid=pfY48HnLVvGxPM:&tbnh=114&tbnw=116&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dbathing%2Bsuit%26start%3D60%26ndsp%3D20%26svnum%3D10%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN
theres the link for the bathing suit i believe u are looking for,u can find them in stores all over and online bathing suit shops such as amazon, ebay, newport news etc..good luck!

I have a scar from a c-section and on my ankles from breaking them in a car accident and also my brother had a major head injury with LOTS of stitches. We both used this stuff called Scar Zone. Its made by a company called Sudden Change. It works wonders. My scars are fading quickly. AND if you hadn't ever seen my brother right after his accident that he had a massive head injury that required layers upon layers of stitches you'd never know!!
