My baby is 2 months old and has caught a nasty bug of some sort. My mother had it 5-6 days ago and last night the baby threw up like a grown person, Just once though then at 4 am she got diahria pretty bad and has been really uncomfortable being very sleepy, and looks drugged! She is holding down her fomula still but still has very watery yellow stool. Has anyone ever heard of a baby this young getting this? I feel so bad cause I dont know what to do for her.

If she was around someone that had it, then more than likely she has it. Since she is soo young, you should really call and ask her doctor what to do. Good Luck! My daughter had it about 3 or 4 months ago and being puked & pooped on is NOT fun!

I think you should take her to the hospital. She is very young. And if she looks drugged or is acting groggy it is not good. Does she have a fever? I had a stomach virus and I am pregnant and they put my on IVs. She might need to be on IVs too. I would get her checked out. The doctor will tell you exactly what to do, what to give her. If you were still breastfeeding or if you are lactating breast milk has antibodies that would help her fight it off but I read you are giving formula.

She is way too young though, most times with a stomach virus they can't do much but that is for grown ups. She is a 2 month old. Please seek medical advice.

yes yes yes a baby can get any type of sickness/cold flu what not as sooooon as they come out! but it sounds like you doin the right things. watch the temperature cuz if it rises tooo quickly a seizure is possible, and watch the dehydration, if the baby is overly lethargic and just not acting appropriately more than she has been then take a trip to doc or call me 911 if you have it where u are. (all we will do most likely is just give u an expensive ride to hosp though.) but if u think baby is that ill feel free to call, otherwise, make an appt or go2 clinic/urgent care or walk into any hosp er.

Technically, there is no such thing as "stomach flu." It is likely a virus, like the ROTA virus. Infants can contract most any communicable disease if they are exposed to it since they do not have fully developed immune systems.

Please call your GP or pediatrician right away. Vomiting and diarrhea are VERY serious in infants. They become dehydrated very quickly and in an infant as young as yours, dehydration could become fatal if not addressed immediately.

I am not trying to scare you but to impress upon you the potential seriousness of the situation.

Aww I am sorry your little one is so sick.

My family also got hammered with a terrible stomach bug. It took my daughter (she is 5) about 5 days to get over it. She was admitted to the hospital for being dehydrated.
That is my concern for your little one if her bowls are watery with her being SO young she can get dehydrated SOOOOO fast.
I would call her doctor and bring her in asap so they can see if she is getting dehydrated if so she will need IV fluids like my daughter did. My daughters doc took 1 look at her and knew.

Best of luck!!!!!

Of course 2 month olds can get the stomach flu. Do you really think that they are immune to the virus? They are the ones that are most vulnerable. And what are you doing asking us for advice? Call your doctor right now!!

Your baby needs to see a doctor. You said she looks "drugged". If by that you mean your baby is lethargic, she needs to see a doctor now. That means your baby is pretty sick, and she needs attention.

Does her poo smell "yeasty?" I mean...does it stink like high hell? If so, she may have "rotovirus" (sp?) Its a nasty bug that will last a few days. Make sure she stays hydrated and it will work itself out. Good luck.
