I have touch problems with people, I don’t really mind being touched by them, but I can’t touch them. I’ve always been like this and it's starting to annoy me as I have become unapproachable. I haven’t been abused in anyway. Plus it gives me a serious energy not a playful one, it's just starting to get on my nerves I need to change but where do I start. I think it is greatly associated with a lack of confidence.

YOU COULD START BY GIVING ME A HUG!

First, I'm not sure there's anything wrong with not walking around casually touching people. I was very surprised by how many people in business (particularly clients) would walk up and hug me. To be honest, I'd rather they didn't. Maybe I'm strange, but I don't think it's appropriate.

If you really want to change, you should start by touching a close friend or family member, someone you know won't mind (mothers usually work). You don't have to walk up and hug them, something as simple as touching their arm to get their attention would be a good start.

Is it because youre basically a loner and touching people isnt something you have an opportunity to do that often so it becomes harder and harder?? I cringe when people want to hug me for just silly things like when they are saying goodbye. I mean, a "good bye" works just fine for me! LOL Give me my space!

And I dont think it helps that we live in a society where if youre passing someone while on a walk youre supposed to pretty much act like they arent there or they look at you like youre a pervert. Strange.
