Dreds are. Braids can be done from real hair or weave.

actually 2 types of dreads some are grown and some are sewn in
dreads can be done the old school way...you do it yourself or can be chemically done w/ perm solution and lots of back combing
also fake and real hair can be added for color and thickness
braids can be real or synthetic hair

Oh, yes! You have to stop combing it forever. Cut layers here and there. Twist it in large strands. A real mess. Love it!
