Laser printers are generally used by businesses because they have a much lower operating cost than inkjets and are more efficient.

I don't think there is much of a difference between the quality of print outs from a good inkjet and a laser. Plus, if you're going to be printing color, the color lasers are really expensive to buy.

Lasers are larger than most inkjets and need to use a higher quality paper, since they are sensitive to the dust created by cheap copy paper. They are also more sensitive to humidity and more prone to jamming than inkjets. Lasers use toner (like a copier) rather than ink.

Lasers are good if you're planning on doing a lot of bulk printing, particularly black and white printing, since they use about $0.02 worth of toner per a page where inkjets can easily use $0.15 worth of ink per a copy.

I'm a writer and I seriously considered getting a laser for the cheaper cost for printing manuscripts, but decided to get an inkjet instead when I saw how sensitive they were to humidity, since I don't work in an air-conditioned environment.

I would think a good quality inkjet would be best for graphic design, since I'd imagine most of your printing is color.

well laser printers give a much better finish, but the running costs are a lot greater than a ink jet printer, it depends on what scale of printing your doing, eg if its above a4 size prints.
i would recommend getting a ink jet printer to start with

Laser printers are more expensive than the inkjets but have good quality printouts.

If your priority is economy you can go for inkjets or if it is quality you may choose Lasers.

Hp's all-in-one F380 is a good inkjet printer. u can scan, print and make copies/xerox
