I was in 4H and it was a lot of fun. Farm kids don't have much interaction with other kids in the summer. It's a great way to stay out of trouble too.
I Pledge
My HEAD to clearer thinking
My HEART to greater loyalty
My HANDS to larger service
My HEALTH to better living
For my club, my community and my country.
What can be wrong with that?
I also got a $100 scholarship from them, which was big money back then.

I was a 4-H member and I loved it. The 4-H club isn't just a camp, or club for kids that live in rural areas, it's a shame that its not available in every single town. I was fortunate that the city I grew up in had it. There are several different projects to choose from and the 4-H provides an opportunity for children to learn responsibility by serving the community in a volunteer capacity. The club teaches diversity, social skills, leadership, an appreciation for nature, people, and animals, and in some cases a new skill or trade.
