Solomon said
"With the increase of knowledge comes the increase of sorrow"

It's true. The more you know and understand how this corrupt world works the more depressed you will be. You'll say that everything is "vanity! It's like chasing the wind!"

Read this for a pretty thorough thought process on the subject of "is wisdom really any better than foolishness?"

http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=25&chapter=2&version=51

But keep in mind this represent the height of HUMAN wisdom, the Bible offers Divine wisdom that gives hope! The bottom line is the more you learn about this old fallen world the more you see that justice has 'fallen in the streets" so to speak. There's no judge to take up the cause of the truly poor and exploited...in this life that is. Of course if that means everything will be put right in the next life...that includes all the stuff not only the murderers and pedophiles and thieves do but it includes all the stuff you and I have done as well.

So after you're done with that I'd suggest you visit here:

and answer the question: are you a good person? Take the test and see!

I assume this has to do with being in love?

I am not the type of person who takes risks, even with my heart. Although I have been in love a few times, I am never "blinded" by love to the point that I fall for anything. I see people all the time who make "stupid decisions because they think they are happy" but I don't act that way. I would rather be "smart and alone" than "stupid and happy." As long as I act this way, I don't think I'll have any regrets.

I don't think I could be stupid and happy. I am not satisfied not understanding why things are the way they are. So even if I was stupid and happy, I would become unsatisfied--leading to unhappiness. So really (for me) the choice becomes:
Stupid and unhappy
or
smart and sad

Given that choice, I choose the latter--smart and sad.

Our society sure caters to "stupid and happy." But I'm going to go against the grain. I prefer smart and sad, since I'm already there.

If you ever want to read a good book about this exact thing read, "Flower for Algernon." It's usually required reading for Jr. High (Middle School). But it really gets to the heart of this exact subject.

It is better to be smart and happy. The sad will come no matter what if you are alive.

I guess it all depends upon which set of information is in question.

Generically speaking, I can't imagine that "stupid" is a preferable state, but not having to listen to the latest nonsense from Washington for a week certainly can leave a person less stressed.

Whose happy to be stupid? I'd prefer smart and happy...like I am now.

Key word here is happy, nothing hard about that. But why not smart and happy? Why so negative?

Stupid and happy always wins, which I wouldn't so much mind, but it does make things particularly hard for a presidential candidate who happens to possess an intellect.
