Am an Accounts Assistant in Kenya Nairobi working for an Auditing firm and would like to join the NGO world to help the poor and improve the living standards of Slum dwelers in Kibera slums which is the biggest slum in Africa. I would like to be in touch with Charity Organisations in America to see my dream come true. I respect the Canadians due to their hardwork, generosity and honesty and would like to work with them to improve the life of Kenya Slum dwelers.

look up where the Canadian consolate near you is located. Go to their website or visit them directly and ask about the proceedure in applying for a visa. Each country has a slightly different application process, but for a temporary working visa you typically have to show a few things: (1) that you intend to return to your home country after the duration of your employment is over (2) that you are of good moral character, ie no criminal conviction or misrepresentation of legal fact. (3) they will typically do a security check on you.
Also no doubt there is a preference system in place. If the canadian system works anything like the US immigration system you will likely have to find a sponsor. The NGO you wish to work for will likely give you that. The sponsorship is essentially a letter from your employer testifying that he needs you, that you are invaluable to the company/organization and that the organization will take responsibility for you during your stay. There may be a labor certification process involved as well (again im going by the US model), but these are all the things you should be thinking about.
Start by talking to the NGO and the Canadian cosolate, find out what paperwork they might need, whether a labor ceritication is needed, what and how the letter of invitation should be like and what you have to prove in order to get into canada. Above all, be truthful, misrepresentation of material fact is a deth kneel in immigration law. good luck, hope that helps some.

(PS, Im not a lawyer, so dont take this as legal advice, this is just what I know)

This is a tough question...

Most likely you are going to have to figure out how to get to Canada on a visitor's visa and then seek asylum and also look for a job. This is a tough, dangerous and illegal path, but people do it every day.

If you are seeking American charity, why do you want to go to Canada?
