I think the cowboys wanted someone who can help with tony romo, but as a player I don't think it was a good choice. what do you think?

Bad choice. Trent Green of the Chiefs would be a better teacher for Romo if he goes on the trading block or gets cut.

Brad Johnson is an extremely capable back up who will step up if Romo goes down. He is also experienced and can teach ROmo a few things along the way. Definitely a good pick up for the Cowboys... But who cares about that?!? The J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets got Thomas Jones from the Bears for next to nothing! What a steal!!

Brad Johnson is one of the most underrated QB's in the NFL. For whatever reason he never gets a real opportunity to be the starter for any team he goes to. He can make all the throws and isn't near the statue that Bledsoe is in the pocket. If Romo were to get injured or just turn into a real bust Brad Johnson could really step in and provide some great depth for him.

Compared to their colossal waste of money by giving the never-was Leonard Davis $50 million, this is a drop in the bucket. Johnson provides a solid backup and capable starter should Romo go down with injury. Thats what the Cowboys wanted to do with Bledsoe, but he wants to start, and probably still can. Its a good deal, but they probably could got a similar quarterback for a lower price.

yeah man. BJ is STILL one of the better QBs out there.
Don't be surprised if he becomes the starter.
I don't know how Romo will take to him being there so I don't know how much of a mentor/teacher he'll be for Romo but hopefully, Romo WILL learn from him and be ready to take the team to the playoffs either this '07-'08 season or '08-'09 season and not self distruct in the first round.

Hes a good choice for a backup. He is the master of the checkdown. He doesn't mind being a mentor to a young QB. He can teach Romo alot about how to be a QB in the NFL and what it means to be a QB in the NFL. He'll transform him from being the gut that takes the snaps to the guy that leads the team.

Brad is good, but he is not very durable. I think they stay with Romo, but with Johnson coming off the bench, they have a viable alternative, if things go south.

A definite step up from Drew Bledsoe, Johnson can play if his teammates don't screw things up around him.

It is a veteran insurance policy...That's what it is...Romo is the guy, but if he stumbles, he'll have someone looking over his shoulder...Bledsoe wanted out of Dallas because he knew he wouldn't start...
