Robert Deniro leaves James Wood's house after refusing to shoot him. Then you see the garbage truck. Then you see James Wood walk up to it and then disappears. You see the truck go by and the blades grinding trash in the back. I have heard that it is showing that Wood's character committed suicide by throwing himself in it. I just dont see it. What are some other opinions and theories?

I believe James Woods jumps into the back of the garbage truck, theres no other real explanation aside from that, though i would have prefurred to have shot myself. That movies whole ending was just strange.

the home is so far from the line--2/5 of a mile--that we gained't hear or scent the rubbish truck coming. it extremely is kinda demanding b/c as quickly as I lived interior the Metro section, the sound of the truck on the subsequent block frequently jogged my memory that I forgot to place the trash out & i might hurry up, dress, & get the trash out till now the truck got here to the abode--close calls each time!

He killed himself in a garbage truck because he saw his performance & knew it was garbage, just like the rest of his work.
