Ironic since the original Playstation and Playstation 2 played a large role in destroying the Saturn and Dreamcast?

Sony really screwed themselves over this time around. Trying to incorporate stuff like BluRay and Web Browsing they overlooked the main purpose of the system, the games. They lost a lot of exclusive titles that was suppose to make the PS3 a big hitter in opening months, but lost them to mainly Microsoft Grand Theft Auto IV, Assassin Creed, and now it is told, possibly, that they lost Devil May Cry 4. So with that said, who will want to buy a 500 or 600 dollar system, a 60 dollar game, plus taxes, and have the same games on another cheaper, better system that has a larger library of games, a larger online community, and achievement points (believe it or not, those make games all the better.) I think if Sony manages to stay with it until Metal Gear Solid 4 comes out they have a better chance of surviving. But so far they really screwed themselves over big time. What sold the PS1 was having not a lot of competition at the time, Genesis and SNES was fading out slowly along with the other systems that were out at the time. For the PS2 what helped was third party developers and having many more exclusives for their system that kept it going strong. BluRay isn't even known if it will last or not anyways, HD-DVD, and BlueRay are still up in the air in being successful or not. I hope PS3 makes it, though, one if it fails Sony will go with it, and two, I am really wanting to see Metal Gear Solid 4 make it out.

Yes, Electronic Gaming Monthly Analyzed both the Wii and PS3 and predicted Wii to come out on top and worried about the life span of the PS3
Last time they did this, they predicted XBOX to win over Gamecube

awesome graphics, but the lack of supply and new games seems to be their undoing. Walmart has a good stock of them at present and they are NOT flying off the shelf anymore.

Oh, and at $599 they are NOT cheap

I'm hoping so. Not because I'm a fanboy, but because I want Sony to learn a valuable lesson about boasting, mocking, and price-gouging. This should be good. >:D
